COSAFA enters day two

COSAFA senior challenge tournament this afternoon enters day two with Botswana playing Swaziland in the group (B) fixture in Kitwe.

 

Kick-off time is 17:00 and it will be live on South Africa pay television channel Super Sport.

 

According to MTN football website, the pair has been regular combatants down the years, with Botswana leading the head-to-head score with 10 wins to Swaziland’s four in their 19 previous matches.

 

Their shared history includes one previous meeting in the Cosafa Cup when they clashes in the last edition played in Zimbabwe in 2009 were  Botswana edged Swaziland one nil thanks to a goal from Malepa Bolelang.

 

Meanwhile the other Group (B) match between guest Kenya and Lesotho that was due to be played on Sunday has been moved to Monday.

 

This is due to delays by Kenya to arrive for the tournament following player league commitments.

 

On Saturday, Namibia beat Mauritius 2-1 in the opening fixture of the tournament in Lusaka.

 

Winner of this year’s COSAFA Cup will take home about 300 000 kwacha, while half of that will go to the runners up.

 

The bronze medal will earn 90 000 kwacha.
