NGOCC wants fast-track court
The Non-Governmental Organizations Coordinating Committee has called for the introduction of fast track courts to deal with the rising number of cases of Gender Based Violence.
Board Chairperson Beatrice Grillo has also called for enhanced sensitization in communities against Gender Based Violence.
She says the community has a responsibility to ensure girls and women are protected at all times.
Ms Grillo was speaking on TV2’s Morning Live programme on Wednesday.
The country has recorded a rise in the number of GBV cases in the recent past with two women and a four year girl being murdered in separate incidences in the last three days.
The four year old was killed after allegedly being defiled in Mumbwa while another woman in Lusaka’s Chainda area was murdered after allegedly being raped.
Another woman of Lundazi was allegedly murdered by her husband over food.
