Be entrepreneurs- women told
Vice President, Inonge Wina, says women should use incentives government is creating to improve their participation in entrepreneurial activities.
Mrs. Wina says government seeks to encourage women participation in entrepreneurship through a range of initiatives.
Syvia Kabala reports that the Vice President said this when she met Non Governmental Organisations operating in the UK at Legatum Institute in London.
She cited President Edgar Lungu’s recently announced intention to create a ‘Women’s Bank’ among initiatives being taken by Government to encourage women to participate in business.
The Vice President said most women in Zambia fail to excel in business because they have unequal access to credit.
Mrs. Wina also said her office has partnered with some Non Governmental Organisations to modernize some markets.
And Legatum Institute’s Right Baroness, Lynda Chalker, said the NGO community appreciates Mrs. Wina involvement in issues affecting the less privileged in society.
