Women’s bank nodded
Various stakeholders have praised government for establishing the first ever Women’s Bank in Zambia.
Non Governmental Organisation Coordinating Council -NGOCC- Board Chairperson, Sara Longwe says the move is progressive and will help a lot of women in the country to be empowered.
Ms. Longwe told ZNBC News in Lusaka that most women in the country will now have easy access to loan facilities which will in-turn improve their businesses and livelihood.
And Private Sector Development Association -PSDA- Chairperson, Yusouf Dodia said the Bank if well implemented will help achieve financial inclusion of the women’s folk especially those in rural areas.
Mr. Dodia implored the women in the country to take advantage of the establishment of the bank by coming up with feasible and viable business proposals.
Meanwhile Zambia Union for Financial and Allied Workers -ZUFIAW- General Secretary, Chingati Msiska says the establishment of the bank is a plus because it will create more job opportunities in the banking sector.
Government recently launched the Women’s Bank with a view of empowering women in the country by offering tailor made financial and banking services.
