LUNGU condemns CBU riots
President Edgar Lungu
President Edgar Lungu has condemned Copperbelt University -CBU- students for last night’s riots in Kitwe.
President Lungu says it wrong for the students to riot and destroy innocent people’s property, over matters that can be settled amicably.
The Head of State has since warned that he will not take lightly any further riotous behaviour by any student at institutions of higher learning.
President Lungu says students should focus on education and avoid being incited by politicians.
President Lungu was speaking at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport upon arrival from Kitwe.
CBU students, last night blocked Jambo Drive Avenue, destroying public and private property, as they protested over delayed payment of their meal allowances.
