730 troops deployed in C.A.R.
The Zambia Army has started pre-deployment training for 730 troops earmarked for peacekeeping in the Central African Republic.
Deputy Army Commander and Chief of Staff Major General Topply Lubaya says the Zambian Battallion deployed to the Central African Rebuplic have performed well.
General Lubaya says the United Nations has seen it fit for Zambia to continue participating in the peace keeping mission.
He says the second contingent of the Zambia Army Troops undergoing training will relieve the first contingent deployed in Central African Republic.
General Lubaya was speaking during the official opening of the UN pre-deployment training for Zambian troops in Lusaka.
He commended the American and British governments for their continued support to the Army through training and provison of logistics during the UN Pre-deploytment training.
General Lubaya urged the troops to take the training seriously and encouraged them to perform to public expectations.
