Lubinda challenges farmers
Agriculture Minister, Given Lubinda
Government is encouraging farmers to engage in climate smart agriculture by growing more drought resistant crops.
Minister of Agriculture Given Lubinda says environment friendly methods such as conservation farming are appropriate due to the decline in the country’s rainfall.
Mr. Lubinda says farmers should also diversify from maize and venture into the production of drought resistant crops like cassava, sorghum and millet.
He says government is promoting diversification under the current farmer input support program.
Mr. Lubinda was speaking in an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka today.
