Saudi firm eyes fertilizer market

Minister of Agriculture Given Lubinda says a Saudi Arabian company is expected in Zambia to sample the soils so that it determines what type of fertiliser can be used.
Mr. Lubinda says the assessment which is to be carried out by the firm will enhance productivity in the country.
He said this during the launch of the Zambia advanced maize seed adoption programme – Zamsap- in Lusaka.
The minister also said government will continue to create an enabling environment that will see partnerships thrive and contribute to the development of the sector.

And Minister of Gender Nkandu Luo says it is important that partnerships are enhanced so as to transform the lives of the farming community.
Speaking at the same function pioneer Dupont Managing Director Munyaradzi Mutsvairo said the four year programme has been rolled out to four provinces.
Mr Mutsvairo disclosed that Muchinga, Northwestern, Luapula and Northern province are benefiting from the Zamsap project.
And Musika Managing Director Reuben Banda says 206 women groups and 57 youth groups will benefit from the project.
