ZCRM to re-engage Government over national park mining
The Zambia Community Resource Management Forum is disappointed that government has approved a project which was rejected by various stakeholders.
AND ZCRMF intends to re-engage government to review the recently approved Kangaluwi Mining Project in the lower Zambezi National Park.
Resource Management Forum Member VINCENT ZIBA says the Zambia Environmental Management Agency-ZEMA in 2012 rejected the large scale mining project based on solid technical grounds.
He says in a statement to ZNBC News that the matter was NOT approved then because the then minister of lands wanted to subject the matter before cabinet for scrutiny.
The Ministry of Lands has approved the Environmental Impact statement -EIS that will see the establishment of Kangaluwi mining project by Mwembeshi Resources.
