Zambia,Rwanda sign 3 agreements

Zambia and Rwanda have signed three bilateral agreements with President Edgar Lungu calling for enhanced relations between the two countries.

Speaking when he met Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his delegation at State House, President Lungu said Zambia and Rwanda should explore areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

President Lungu said the two countries have a lot to learn from each other in energy, tourism and information communication technology-ICT.

And President Lungu said Zambia will continue with its policy of non-interference in affairs of other countries.

The Head of State said although Zambia is concerned about the political situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he is hopeful that leaders in that country will find an amicable solution to the constitutional challenges that have arisen.

And Rwanda President Paul Kagame thanked Zambians for accommodating his fellow countrymen who fled that country in the aftermath of the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

President Kagame encouraged Rwandese that are still in the diaspora to return to their home country.

Mr Kagame also invited President Lungu to visit that country at his convenience.

Ministers from the two countries signed agreements on air services, defence and security and extradition.
