MISA prods media
The Media Institute of Southern Africa -MISA- Zambia Chapter has observed that people in rural areas still lack essential information on the dangers of HIV/AIDS.Chairperson Henry Kabwe says the media must find ways of reaching out to the people in rural areas to equip them with adequate information about the pandemic.
He says this would enable many people in rural areas to have adequate information on the dangers of the disease.
Mr. Kabwe said in an interview with ZANIS that the media needs to be more proactive in the way it reports about the pandemic.
Zambia has recorded an increase in the rate of new HIV infections from 70,000 in 2007 to 82,000 this year.
