Opposition cautioned
The association of ex-miners on the Copperbelt has appealed to opposition political parties to desist from making statements on matters they do NOT understand.Association Chairperson JONATHAN NASILELE says his association has resolved to work with the government to ensure their problems are sorted out.
Mr. NASILELE was responding to a statement attributed to Patriotic Nchanga Member of Parliament Wilbur Simuusa in one of the daily tabloids.
Mr. NASILELE said challenges currently faced by the ex-miners can only be addressed by the party in government hence the decision by the ex-miners to work with the ruling party.
And the Forum for Progressive Politics has appealed to President Rupiah Banda to order the immediate stop to placing government adverts in publications known to deliberately promote division and hatred in the country.
In a letter adressed to President BANDA, Forum Secretary General CHARLES KAFUMBO says his organisation has noted that government may be indirectly funding anarchy and a breakdown of cultural morals.
Mr KAFUMBO says some media organisations have become windows of insults and pornography.
