Zamtel sale justified
Government has challenged political leaders and some sections of the press to tell Zambians the truth about the state of the country’s parastatal telecom company, Zamtel.
Communications and Transport Minister, Geoffrey Lungwangwa says people should not criticize Government unnecessarily over the sale of Zamtel.
He told ZNBC that any government would have sold Zamtel in its current state.
Professor Lungwangwa said government had no option but to sell Zamtel because the firm was unprofitable and was even failing to pay its workers.
He said those who condemning government on sale of Zamtel are practicing cheap politics.
