Tears of joy at Shamilimo
There were tears of joy and happiness at Shamilimo Basic School in Mwembeshi Constituency on Sunday when a 1 by 2 classroom block which had been run down for the past 15 years was finally rehabilitated.The project to rehabilitate the classroom block cost K123 million with funding from both the District Education Board (DEBS) and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Apart from the classroom block, part of the money was used to rehabilitate five teachers houses.
Two by two classroom blocks were also built using the DEBS abd CDF funds.
Area member of parliament Edward Kasoko thanked the people in the constituency fo their contribution towards completion of the project.
He called for unity of purpose at all times as when a people are united, nothing is difficult for them to achieve because they are united.
Mr. Kasoko said he expected many more development projects to take place in the constituency and urged people to continue working together.
The member of parliament was speaking at the annual general meeting of Shamilimo Basic School meant to see how far the parent teachers association had gone in implement development projects at the school.
