RB invited to World Cup opening
President RUPIAH BANDA has been invited by his South African counterpart JACOB ZUMA to attend and witness the official opening of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa billed for June 11.President BANDA confirmed having received the invitation to Journalists at State House this morning.
Mr. BANDA said it is important for everyone to part of the World Cup which is being played on African soil for the first time.
President BANDA was also made to append his signature on a soccer callled Africa's ball.
The ball which has about 13-thousand signatures from diffrent African countries is been anchored by the Spirit of Football Project.
CHRISTIAN WACH and ANDREW ARIS, who are spearheading the project, also presented a special soccer ball to President BANDA.
DHL Zambia also presented a DHL branded ball to the President.
