5 million dollars needed for roads
About 5-hundred million United States Dollars is needed to rehabilitate all roads which are in a bad state country wide.Works and Supply Minister, MIKE MULONGOTI says lack of funds has hampered progress in completing all the road rehabilitation programmes.
Mr. MULONGOTI says government has however put in place an annual work plan to rehabilitate and upgrade all roads across the country.
The minister was speaking at the Zambia Chamber Of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Officers Breakfast in LUSAKA today.
He said the on-going road projects will also involve opening up new roads to ease movement of goods and services.
And ZACCI Vice President, GEOFFREY SAKULANDA called on government to come up with a railway master plan which will connect all provinces to the existing rail lines.
