Opposition National Alliance Spokesperson Cosmo Mumba says his party and 16 other political parties will not attend the national dialogue and reconciliation meeting.
Mr. Mumba says the opposition political parties have opted to stay away from the national dialogue because ZCID is not participating in the talks.
He said this in a telephone interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
Mr. Mumba who is also President of National Revolution Party explained that the opposition will only participate in talks when ZCID and three Church mother bodies set a date were both will be present.
Meanwhile United National Independence Party -UNIP- Southern Province Chairperson, Retired Captain Robert Mukengami, says Zambians have a duty to ensure that the dialogue process takes-off for the betterment of the country.
In an interview with ZNBC News, Captain Mukengami has also appealed to all political parties participating in the national dialogue process to put Zambia first before party interests.
He says despite having different political views, the primary goal of political leaders should be developing Zambia.
Captain Mukengami has further urged all political parties and Zambians to ensure that all the resolutions that will be made during the process, are implemented.
