Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya says there are 35 hospitals currently under construction countrywide.
Dr. Chilufya says when completed, the health facilities will have a positive impact on the lives of Zambians.
He says it is the mandate of President Edgar Lungu to ensure health services are brought close to the communities as possible.
The Minister of Health says it is for this reason that his Ministry is indiscriminately constructing hospitals in all the 10 provinces.
Dr. Chilufya was speaking in Mansa when he toured the construction of a District Hospital.
He said phase one of the Mansa District hospital has been completed at a cost of 13 Million Kwacha while Phase two is under construction at a cost of 33 Million Kwacha.
And Dr. Chilufya says the decentralisation of the medical stores services is slowly becoming a reality with construction of medical hubs in different parts of the country.
The Minister said the Mansa Medical Stores hub will be completed by December this year.
He is happy with the contractor Wah Kong for ensuring Government’s vision becomes a reality.
