Luapula Province Minister Nixon Chilanga says more than six thousand farmers will benefit from the operations of Kawambwa Tea Company in Kawambwa district.
Mr. Chilangwa says this will be done through the introduction of Out-grower schemes.
He says Kawambwa tea company will need huge tonnes of tea leaves for processing following management’s decision to expand operations.

He said the people of Luapula are happy that President Edgar Lungu is slowly taking back the company to its past glory.
And Company Supervisor, Wellington Mwewa said management has started rehabilitating existing machines.
He said this has resulted into increased production as the company is now able to process fifty tonnes of tea leaves per day.
