The government says it requires about $84million to successfully conduct the 2020 census.
National Development Planning Minister Alexander Chiteme says his ministry has already begun sourcing for finances from its cooperating partners.
Mr Chiteme has since called on the Ministry of Finance to allocate more money for the exercise.
Speaking to ZNBC, Mr Chiteme assured the nation that government is ready to conduct the 2020 census.
Zambia’s last Census of Population and Housing was conducted in 2010 and it was the fifth national population census exercise since independence.
