President Edgar Lungu says losers in an election should learn to accept the result and move on especially if the vote was free and fair.
President Lungu said this immediately after attending the Inauguration ceremony of Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina.
He said Madagascar has shown that democracy has come to stay in Southern African.
President Lungu said the Malagasy have shown their commitment towards the promotion of democracy going by how they conducted their elections.
He said it is gratifying that Madagascar’s former President Hery Rajao-Narima-Mpianina attended the Inauguration ceremony despite losing the election.
President Lungu has since returned to Zambia.
