Athletes to represent Zambia at the 2018 Summer Olympic games have left the country for Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The athletes left the country aboard an Emirates airline plane at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Monday night.
National Sports Council of Zambia Acting General Secretary Rapheal Mulenga has implored the Athletes to approach their games with precision and should not be intimidated by opponents.
Mulenga says the Summer Olympic games provide the best opportunity for the athletes to sell themselves and put Zambia on the map.
And National Olympics Committee of Zambia Secretary General Boniface Kambikambi says the organisations plans on intensifying sports activities so that more youths are given an opportunity to compete at the world stage.
Meanwhile Zambia Swimmers Union -ZASU- President Guy Phiri, who is one of the top officials that has travelled with the contingent, says he is confident all athletes will perform well.
The 2018 summer Olympic games starts October 6 and will run until October 18 2018.
