The Barotse Royal Establishment -BRE- has welcomed government’s decision to reduce school fees and examination fees for schools especially in the rural areas.
BRE Ngambela Mukela Manyando says the move will help increase the number of children accessing education in the province.
The Ngambela said this at the Limulunga Lamulena Palace in Western Province.
This was before Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary Jobbicks Kalumba went into a closed-door meeting with the Litunga to highlight the Ministry’s new reforms.
And Dr. Kalumba has described the closed-door meeting with the Litunga as successful.
He has also disclosed that starting this year examinations for grades seven, nine and twelve will be conducted in November.
Dr. Kalumba has noted that the third team of the school calendar was short as exams started in October giving less time to learners to complete the syllabus.
