Zambian Musician Brian Chilala has died.
Mr. Chilala died in road traffic accident which happened on Lusaka’s Lumumba road last night around 23 hours near Family 24.
His daughter Diana Chilala confirmed the death of Mr. Chilala to ZNBC News this morning.
Mr. Chilala’s music features sharp lyrics which satirically address both moral and political issues in the country.
The late Mr. Chilala was one of the Zambian musicians who maintained the original version of kalindula music.
He was also onetime protégé of both Zamrock legend Paul Ngozi and Amayenge leader Chris Chali.
Having been in the music industry since 1997, the late Mr. Chilala formed his own backing group called Ngoma Zasu.
The music group is a true pan-Zambian band known for playing all the dance styles from various provinces of the country with great expertise and talent.
Together with his group, they stormed the country’s music industry with hits such as Shimololwa,‘Nsanje Awisi Boyi ,Chisongo’, ‘Nimwe Tulolela’, Mailesi’,among other songs.
