The twins Bupe and Mapalo were conjoined are expected to be handed back into the care of their parents by end of this week.
Meanwhile, the twins, who are still admitted to the University Teaching Hospital -UTH- in Lusaka, have continued to recover after their surgical separation.
UTH Surgeon, Robert Zulu has told ZNBC news via telephone that the twins have since been removed from oxygen machines, however they are still in the Intensive Care Unit -ICU.
Dr. Zulu said this is for the safety of the twins and to prevent the flow of traffic of visitors.
Bupe and Mapalo, who were joined by the abdomen, were separated surgically on February 2, 2018, by a team of Zambian doctors at the UTH.
