National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili has commended Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people for banning the display of bare breasts at this year’s Nc’wala ceremony.
Reverend Sumaili says this is in line with the national values and principles of morality and human dignity.
The minister has also called on other traditional leaders to emulate this noble act by identifying cultural practices that are against the national values and principles and ensure they are banned.
She has also encouraged stakeholders to support traditional leaders in all efforts aimed at eliminating retrogressive cultural practices.
