A University of Zambia Historian says Youths in higher learning institutions need to be trained more in practical skills for Zambia to realize its dream of being a middle-income country by 2030.
Dr. Euston Chiputa says this should include pupils in secondary schools.
He was reacting to some of the proposals on skills training from the just ended education conference by the Ministries of General education and Higher Education.
Dr. Chiputa has told ZNBC news that he supports proposals to have more practical work in some courses at tertiary level.
And Dr Chiputa says the proposal to have children starting grade when they are six years old is long overdue and is a good move now that pre- school classes have been introduced.
