Cholera breaks out in Lusaka

 

 

Eleven cholera cases have been reported in Lusaka.

 

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has confirmed that out of the 11, 6 have been discharged while 5 are still on treatment.

 

Dr Chilufya disclosed this after inspecting Cholera centres in Lusaka.

 

He says the affected areas in Lusaka are Chipata and Mazyopa compounds.

 

The minister also disclosed that government in conjunction with other partners is putting in place measures to contain the outbreak so that cases do not increase.

The Minister says his Ministry wants to ensure that the outbreak does not spread to other areas.

 

Meanwhile Dr Chilufya says out of the Eleven cholera cases reported in Lusaka, 6 have been discharged while 5 are still on treatment.
