Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Godfridah Sumaili says preparations for the National Day of Prayer have advanced.
Reverend Sumaili says logistics are being taken care of by the Standing Committee of Permanent Secretaries on State Functions.
She told Parliament today in a Ministerial statement that National Prayers will be held in Kitwe at Nkana Stadium while the observance of the Day will be in all provinces and districts.
Reverend Sumaili also said communication to missions abroad has been done to encourage them to observe this day.
She called on Members of Parliament to encourage all members of the public in their respective constituencies to come out in numbers and pray together on the special day.
This Year’s Day of Prayer will be held under the theme ‘Repentance: Promoting Peace and Reconciliation – Consolidating National Unity in Diversity’.
