Southern African Centre for Constructive Resolution of Dispute -SACCORD- has urged people in the country to divorce politics from various national days.
SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Chembe says the country has increasingly develop a political culture where various national events are politicise.
Mr. Chembe adds that Independence Day marks a time when the country became a master of its own destiny politically and economically hence the need to recognize the day.
He told ZNBC news in an interview in Lusaka that the theme for this year’s Independence Day should be embraced by all Zambians in order to foster development adding that peace is paramount in developing the nation.
The Theme for this year’s independence days is “Celebrating a shared future of unity, development and prosperity “.
