Public and Private Drivers Association of Zambia -PPDAZ- says it has engaged Government to resolve the impasse that resulted in the retrieval of the 25 Higer Buses meant for youth empowerment.
PPDAZ President Josiah Majuru says the youths that were given the buses took advantage of the term empowerment and ended up abusing the facility.
Mr. Majuru says the youths showed no commitment to run the buses as a commercial business to facilitate for loan repayment.
He was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today.
Mr. Majuru said the Association has gone into talks with Government to plan on how best the Higer Buses could be restored and used for their intended purpose.
Youth and Sports Minister, Moses Mawere disclosed that 25 buses were retrieved, and that the loan repayment was poor.
Mr. Mawere also indicated that most of the buses were non- runners.
