Copperbelt Minister Japhen Mwakalombe says President Edgar Lungu is in a hurry to end corruption in the public service to enhance service delivery.
Mr Mwakalombe said corruption deters development and the delivery of social services to the masses.
He called on Local Authorities to be transparent and accountable in the delivery of social services to the communities.
He was speaking during the commemoration of African Decentralisation Day held in Ndola on the Copperbelt under the theme Fighting Corruption at local level a sustainable way to transform Africa from its territories.
Earlier Ndola mayor Amon Chisenga expressed disappointment with the low turnout of public workers at this year’s Africa Decentralisation day.
Mr Chisenga also took a swipe at various government departments for failing to exhibit their products and services to the masses.
