Finance Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe says the increase in the demand for copper has stabilised the exchange rate.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe has also described the country’s economy as STABLE.
And Mrs. Mwanakatwe says the country is now collecting more mineral royalties, which has translated into more foreign exchange on the market.
She says this has given the central bank more foreign currency liquidity.
Mrs. Mwanakatwe was speaking in an interview with Journalists in Lusaka.
The Finance Minister said the new tax measures have reinforced efforts to grow Zambia’s economy.
