Visiting Namibian Minister of Information, broadcasting and Technology Stanley Simaata has called for more investment in the film industry saying it has potential to grow the economy if taken seriously.
Mr. Simaata who says the industry has been neglected for years adds that once supported the industry can support young people with skills and ultimately contribute to economic growth.
And, Mr. Simaata says the digital migration process in Namibia has slightly stalled though the process has reached 70 percent.
Mr. Simaata was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Minister of information and broadcasting services Dora Siliya in Lusaka today.
And Ms. Siliya says Governments needs to start investing more in the film industry to harness talent.
She adds that Zambia is pleased to host the film academy.
