Multi Choice Zambia has urged local content producers to use the steady growth of the film industry to contribute towards the growth of the economy.
Multi Choice Managing Director Ngoza Matakala says the growth of the country’s film industry is receiving recognition at continental level and has the capacity to generate wealth.
Ms Matakalasaid this in a speech read on her behalf by Public Relations Manager Mwika Malindima at the launch of the Multichoice Zambia Film and Television Awards ZAFTAs.
She says Multi Choice is proud of the strides that have been made in the film and television industry in Zambia.
MultiChoice Zambia who are this year’s headline sponsors have injected 6 hundred thousand Kwacha towards the 2018 ZAFTAs that will be held on 3rd November 2018.
And, National Media Arts- NAMA- President Lottie Siame says the sponsor will help motivate more local content producers to work extra hard.
Meanwhile, Content Producer and Film Maker Owas Mwape says the country’s film industry has evolved with more people coming on board to offer support.
This year’s ZAFTAs will have 16 awards split into three categories.
