Government is building an ultra-modern classroom block at Daniel Kalebuka School in Ngabwe to increase classroom space for learners.
New Daniel Kalebuka School Head Teacher Samuel Siandimbe says over 416 learners at the school from grade 1 to 7 are currently sharing two class rooms.
Mr Saindimbe told ZNBC News in Ngabwe that contact hours between teachers and pupils have been reduced to two hours for lower classes to ensure that everyone attends class.
He commended government for releasing funds for the construction of the new classroom block whose works has since kicked off.
Mr Saindimbe also appealed to government to build more houses for teachers to ease accommodation challenges.
Meanwhile, Lufubu Member of Parliament Gift Chiyalika said government is keen to address all the challenges facing residents in the area.
Mr Chiyalika said government through the Constituency Development Fund has channelled more resources towards the development of infrastructure at the school.
He said the community in Ngabwe has also put resources together to build a one by three classroom and teachers house at the school.
