Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kampamba Mulenga says government is concerned that the internet is being abused by people with intentions to disturb normal operations of institutions.
She says government is keenly working at curbing cybercrimes by introducing legislation aimed at addressing the vice.
Ms. Mulenga was speaking during a workshop organized by KPMG under the theme Effective Resilience and Response to Emerging Cyber threats.
She has challenged Journalists and other stakeholders to understand the subject of Cybercrime so that they can educate the public.
Speaking at the same function, Associate Technology Advisor John Anyanwu urged companies to put information security top of their agenda.
Mr. Anyanwu said all companies are at the risk hence the need to put in place measures to deal with the problem posed by cybercrimes.
