Government has called for partnerships in an effort to develop the local film industry.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kampamba Mulenga says government seeking to grow the entrepreneurs who will be able to drive and grow the media industry.
She was speaking during the official opening of Ster-Kinekor Cinema at Manda Hill in Lusaka last night.
Ms. Mulenga, who is also Chief Government Spokesperson, commended Ster-Kinekor for the investment and the value it has brought to Zambia.
The Minister assured Ster-Kinekor that their investment is safe in Zambia.
Meanwhile, Ster-Kinekor Cinemas Group Chief Executive Officer Wanda Matandela has challenged the local film makers to consider mentoring upcoming artists in the film industry as a way of promoting growth.
Mr. Matandela said the promotion of the local film industry can only be achieved by showing local films.
Ster-Kinekor Cinemas has been in existence in Zambia for the last fourteen years.
