Chongwe Member of Parliament Japhen Mwakalombe says Zambia will only attain its vision of becoming a middle-income country by 2030 if it invests in the education sector.
Mr. Mwakalombe who is also Copperbelt province Minister says no country has developed without an educated populace.
Mr. Mwakalombe said this during a meeting for resource mobilisation for Palabana Primary school under Zambia Education Enhancement project -ZEEPP- which is being funded by the World Bank.
And Chongwe District Education Board Secretary Ruth Phiri said the project will benefit a number of people as the school will be turned into a secondary school.
Mr Mwakalombe also assured teachers in Lwimba ward at Margaret Mwachiyeya Secondary School that plans are underway to construct teachers houses at the new school.
Meanwhile, Lwimba Zone chairperson Allanson Mwashelela told Mr. Mwakalombe that teachers in the area are ready to work with government in fostering development in the nation.
