The Health Professions Council of Zambia -HPCZ- has given a 14-days closure notice to Mbereshi Mission Hospital in Mwansabombwe, Luapula Province, for poor health service delivery.
But management at the hospital has pledged to improve conditions at health institution.
Hospital medical officer-in-charge Jack Sangasile says management acknowledges the notice, on reasons of violating terms and conditions of Health Profession Act of 2009.
Dr Sangasile however said the hospital has been facing financial challenges but its striving to improve the conditions, in a bid to provide people with quality health care.
He was speaking when HPCZ acting registrar and chief executive officer, Boniface Bwalya visited the health facility.
Mr Bwalya added that the council appreciates the challenges facing Mbereshi Mission Hospital and the institution has been given grace time to put everything in order.
