Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has urged political parties participating in the Roan and Bahati by-elections to work with the police to deliver free, fair and peaceful election.
Mr Kanganja has since warned his officers to follow the laid down procedures when handling firearms during the campaign period in Roan and Bahati constituencies.
He has tasked the officers to execute their duties professionally by defending the Constitution of the republic and not getting involved in partisan politics.
The Inspector General has also urged the Police to avoid abuse of social media.
He said this during a tour of Roan Constituency to check on the security status ahead of the April 11th, 2019 by elections.
