Agriculture Minister Michael Katambo has called on players in the seed industry to develop improved seed varieties that will address the effects of climate change posing a threat to food and nutrition security.
Mr. Katambo notes that government will continue to support the growth of the seed industry as it plays a major role in increased production and productivity in the agriculture sector.
He says his ministry will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders in the seed industry to ensure an efficient seed delivery system to all farmers.
Mr. Katambo said this in a speech read on his behalf by Director of Agriculture Peter Lungu at a field day organized by SEED-CO in Lusaka.
And SEED-CO Board Chairperson P advised government to develop agricultural policies that will address the adverse impacts of climate change.
