Energy Minister Mathew Nkhuwa says Government is finalizing the process of finding an equity partner for Indeni Refinery.
Mr. Nkhuwa says negotiations are at an advanced stage and that the process should be concluded by March this year.
The Energy Minister said Government wants to get rid of all challenges in the partnership.
Mr. Nkhuwa has told ZNBC news in an interview in Lusaka today that it is Government’s wish that the process be concluded in the earliest possible time.
And Mr. Nkhuwa said Government will resume talks with the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC- once the electoral process is over concerning the setting up of a mega power plant on the Luapula river.
Mr. Nkhuwa said an extension of the Memorandum of Understanding was signed with DRC and is hopeful that the discussions can go ahead.
