Government has set aside One million Kwacha towards the rehabilitation of the road leading to Kalambo Falls in Mbala District.
Northern Province permanent secretary Elias Kamanga disclosed this when his counterpart at the Ministry of Tourism and Arts Reverend Howard Sikwela called on him in Kasama.
Mr. Kamanga said the rehabilitation of Kalambo road will facilitate easy access to Africa’s second deepest waterfalls.
He revealed that funds for the road project were already in the province and works will start soon.
And Reverend Sikwela said the hosting of 100 years of the end of the First World War in Mbala this November alongside the Northern Province Investment Expo will go long way in marketing tourism in the region.
Reverend Sikwela has since urged the Northern Province Administration to sustain the marketing of the province as a preferred destination for tourism and other investment not only in Zambia but also around the world.
