K5m released for Roan clinic



Government has released 5 Million Kwacha for the completion of works at section 25 clinic in Roan Township in Luanshya.


Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya says the clinic which has been under construction is expected to start operating on a 24-hour basis.


The Minister said this when he delivered brand new medical equipment at the health facility.


Dr Chilufya said government has already assigned two medical doctors and 15 nurses at the health facility.


He said government is also upgrading Roan General Hospital so that it can start offering training in registered nursing and midwifery.


Dr. Chilufya also announced that government will in the first quota of next year construct the first ever cancer disease hospital in Kitwe.


He said the cancer disease hospital will cater for Copperbelt towns and people from Luapula Northern and North-western provinces.


And Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo said the people of Luanshya must not be cheated that government does not care for them.


He said President Edgar Lungu wants to change the face of Luanshya by upgrading infrastructure and improving the lives of the people.
