Government has paid over 1-million, 4-hundred thousand US dollars to the Kazungula Bridge Contractor, Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company.
The money is towards offsetting over 14-million US Dollars owed to the company.
Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company Public Relations Officer Chilufya Mumbi-Mofya has confirmed the development to ZNBC News in Livingstone that government has deposited the money.
Mrs. Mofya has however said that construction works at the project will not resume until a minimum of four point one million US dollars is received from the Zambian Government.
On Monday March 18th Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company closed the Kazungula Bridge construction site to await payment of money owed to it.
