The Lusaka City Council -LCC- has demolished an illegal block of stores with more than 10 stores within the Kamwala Trading site opposite the fly over bridge.
This is after a team of Council and state Police swung into action and demolished the building believed to have been constructed without the knowledge of the planning authority.
Speaking during the exercise, Council Public Relations Manager, George Sichima said the structure has been built in the rail reserve and without proper guidance from the local authority.
Mr. Sichima said despite giving prior notice to the owners to demolish the structure, they continued building defying the directive.
He has advised developers to always engage the council before constructing any structure.
