First Lady Esther Lungu has called for concerted efforts aimed at addressing infertility challenges among women and men in the country.
Mrs Lungu says infertility remains a public health problem and has negative impact on couples and families.
The first lady was speaking at the launch of Merck Foundation and Merck more than a mother program that will be working with her foundation and the Ministry of Health in addressing infertility.
Mrs Lungu said it is sad that women are blamed for infertility and that some of them have ended up been abused and losing their marriages.
And Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya says government is rolling out fertility services across the country to enable everyone access.
Meanwhile, Merck foundation President Rasha Kelej says her foundation wants to help women in Zambia with infertility challenges to access specialist treatment.
