The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry says it will continue protecting the local manufacturing industry by imposing heavy duty on imported goods that are also produced locally.
Commerce minister Christopher Yaluma says Zambia is slowly getting into serious industrialization hence the need for government to protect efforts being made by local industries.
Speaking when he toured industries in heavy industrial area in Lusaka, Mr. Yaluma said President Edgar Lungu wants to see a vibrant industrial revolution in Zambia.
