President Edgar Lungu says he will continue visiting provinces to get first-hand information on development activities taking place across the country.
The President says his two-day working visit to the Eastern Province has been an eye opener to various development projects that need to be implemented.
President says he will focus on fulfilling his campaign promises to Zambians.
President Lungu was speaking to journalists at Lusaka City Airport upon arrival from Eastern Province.
And President Lungu says he wants the farmers to be given their farming input on time during this year`s farming season.
The Head of state says he is aware that rains have already started in some parts of the country hence the need to give the farmers their inputs.
The President said this when he paid a coutesy call on chief Kazembe of the Tumbuka people of of Lundazi district.
The President used the opportunity to urge chiefs to encourage their subjects to grow various crops apart from maize.
He says once the people see their chiefs growing other crops it will be easy for their subjects to diversify .
Speaking during the same meeting Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya said government is working hard to ensure that the price of fertilizer is lower during this farming season.
And speaking ealier Chief Kazembe urged government to declare a district within Lundazi.
He says the people in the valley have not benefited much from many developmental projects.
